Academy Award-nominated Production Designer Ruth De Jong gives us a tour of how the physical world of a film is created.
Pulling on her experience on productions ranging from The Tree of Life to There Will Be Blood, Twin Peaks, Nope, The Master, and Manchester by the Sea, as well as her collaborations with Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, The Odyssey), De Jong will discuss her creative process and the integral role of production design in visual storytelling.
The program will start with a presentation of the Virginia Film Festival’s Craft Award to Ruth De Jong.
