BIRD

Bailey (Nykiya Adamas) is a street-smart 12-year-old, who along with her older brother, live with her eccentric father Bug (Barry Keoghan) in a North Kent squat. Bug is a hopeless dreamer, on the verge of marrying a woman he barely knows and in the middle of a get-rich-quick scheme involving the import of a hallucinogenic toad.
Bailey finds no comfort from her life at home; she seeks adventure in the open fields at the edge of town. Her world shifts with the arrival of a troubled newcomer named Bird (Franz Rogowski), a wayward and enigmatic free spirit who is everything the men in her life are not. He enlists her help in a search for his long-gone family and becomes a counterbalance in her coming-of-age.
From Academy Award-winning British auteur Andrea Arnold (Fish Tank, American Honey, Red Road), Bird deftly weaves magical realism into an enlivening story of finding hope in the most unlikely of places.
“Barry Keoghan is arguably the most electric actor working today, and he absolutely ignites Bird”
-Nick Schager, The Daily Beast
“Send[s] an audience out feeling giddy and a smidge weepy in the best sort of way.”
-Leslie Felperin, The Hollywood Reporter
