BOB TREVINO LIKES IT

Grand Jury and Audience Award Winner, SXSW
Lily Trevino (Barbie Ferreira, Euphoria) is a 25-year-old woman struggling to overcome low self-esteem and a lack of close friends and family. When her manipulative and narcissistic father stops picking up her calls, she turns to Facebook in hopes of reconciliation.
Instead, she accidentally gets in touch with another man (John Leguizamo) who shares her father’s name. What starts as an awkward online exchange between two strangers looking for human kindness quickly blossoms into a genuine (albeit still awkward) friendship. Based on director and writer Tracie Laymon’s true story, Bob Trevino Likes It is a warm, humorous, and emotionally sincere look at how family doesn’t always have to be defined by blood.
Discussion with director Tracie Laymon, moderated by Kevin Fallon (The Daily Beast).
“Like its heroine, the comedy can be bright and bouncy and frequently funny. But also like her, it’s secretly a tearjerker, and never more effectively than when it’s at its very sweetest.”
