The Graduate
Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) has just graduated from college and now lives at his parents’ house, avoiding persistent questions about what he wants to do with his life. Benjamin’s existential dread makes him susceptible to seduction by Mrs. Robinson, the wife of his father’s business partner. The tryst comes back to haunt him when he falls for the one woman Mrs. Robinson demanded he stay away from: her daughter. The Library of Congress selected The Graduate for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry in 1996.
