The Speech
This comedic film d’auteur directed by Laurent Tirard follows 35-year-old Adrien at a disastrous family dinner rife with old grudges, and an over-excited soon to be brother-in-law. To make matters worse, Adrien has texted his ex, in an attempt to reconnect, and hasn’t heard back yet. A story that explores male heartbreak through awkward and hilarious moments, this is a film that anyone who’s ever been in a relationship or had a family meal can relate to. Based on a novel by Fabrice Caro, The Speech gives viewers a seat at this hilariously awkward table in this US premiere of a 2020 Cannes Official Selection.
This is a foreign-language film presented with English subtitles.
