After a decade away, anti-regime rebel Chandra returns to his native mountain village in the wake of his father’s death. Awaiting him is Pooja, a girl who believes Chandra is her father, and Suraj, Chandra’s brother who holds opposing political viewpoints. Custom dictates that the father’s body must be carried to the cremation site, leading to conflict between the two brothers. After Suraj storms off, Chandra must turn to neighboring villages for help to carry his father’s body, all the while dealing with rigid rules and traditions that he fought to end during the civil war. This film was selected as Nepal’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards.
