Mark Johnson is an Oscar (Rain Man) and Emmy (Breaking Bad) winner who has produced over 40 films and television shows. He produced Barry Levinson’s films from 1982-1994 including Rain Main, Good Morning Vietnam, The Natural, Tin Men, Avalon, Diner, and Bugsy. Bugsy was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. He produced A Little Princess; Ballast; The Notebook; Galaxy Quest; The Rookie; Donnie Brasco; and A Perfect World. He produced the 2017 Alexander Payne film Downsizing starring Matt Damon. The Holdovers is Focus Features’ second collaboration with Payne.
In television, he executive produced the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning drama Breaking Bad; the Peabody-winning Rectify; Better Call Saul; and Halt and Catch Fire. Currently, he is executive producing Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches. Johnson was on the Academy’s Board of Governors and has been its Chair of Foreign Language Film Selection for the last 19 years.
